Chanelle Eidenbenz is a Swiss/Dutch filmmaker with an interest in dark quirky characters and process driven feminist story structures. Her films tend to explore what stands in the way of people's capacity for connection.
Chanelle worked as first assistant director and script supervisor, has written and directed several shorts and helmed five episodes of the fiction series NR.47 / season 3 (2019) that was broadcasted on Swiss national TV.
2017 she was a participant of the artist program Transcultural Collaboration in Hong Kong. Her short ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM (2018) premiered at Camerimage, screened in over 15 countries including the Oscar qualifying Palm Springs and Cinequest festivals and was nominated for the German cinematography prize.
2020/2021 Chanelle was awarded the screenwriting scholarship Drehbuchwerkstatt München where she developed the feature script And the living is. The same year she co-wrote and directed the docu-fiction film SR111 ABSTURZ ÜBER HALIFAX (2022) that was broadcasted internationally.
Chanelle recently graduated from the National Film and Television School with her short RESORT (2024). She is based in Zurich and London.
